The eco-friendly calmat® technology
calmat® is a physical water treatment system. Normally, in untreated water, calcium crystals form into burr-like structures (1).
These structures then stick to each other and form hard scale deposits on surfaces in your  home (tub, shower, sink, counters, dishes, etc.) and inside your pipes. The calmat® control unit generates dynamic high-frequency electronic impulses that are transmitted into the water.

After the treatment, the calcium crystals form into a rod-like structure (2).  In this form, they can no longer attach to each other or build deposits. The harmless crystal rods are held in suspension in the water.  In this form they will be washed out of the piping system.

Due to the calmat® treatment, a small amount of carbonic acid is released into the water. This carbonic acid is a natural scale solvent that also exists in nature. The released carbonic acid gradually dissolves the existing scale and rust deposits in the piping system.

Because carbonic acid can only dissolve “scale from scale”, a carbonate protective layer remains in the cleared pipe. This prevents pitting corrosion in all metal pipes. A protective layer against pitting corrosion is formed in the whole piping system. As the treated water leaves the piping system, it carries the scale with it, as suspended particles. When drops of water dry in the kitchen and bathroom, the scale powder is left behind which can be removed easily with a damp cloth. There are no more hard deposits. Harsh cleaning detergents are no longer needed.

calmat® is installed on the outside of the pipe. There is no direct contact with the water so the water is not chemically altered. Important minerals and natural elements remain for the human organism. Food and drinks keep their natural taste.
